Woven Coverlet 1843 For Film Use

This antique blanket is dated 1843 from York Pennsylvania in the weaving. There are two names in addition to the date and place – M. Hoke and S. W. Cunningham, could this have been made for a wedding?
It is comprised of two panels that would have been sewn together, but recently have been serged together. One panel is slightly more cherry red, the other is darker. The darker panel is quite damaged and distressed. There are areas on each panel that have been repaired by clamping the edges of the damage together and sewing them in place with a sewing machine.
