Burka from the mid to late 20s century. Central Asian, possibly Afghanistan. The body of the garment is embroidered on the front and the back is elaborately pleated. The top of the garment and the face veil portion are a soft cotton that has been heavily embroidered. There is some discolouration on the garment, particularly on the back hem from wear.
