Verses And Translations by C.S.G.
$65.00
Beautifully designed and printed vanity press publication from circa 1905.
Printed by Hatchards in Piccadilly, London, England.
Green leather cover with impressed gold stamped title. End papers are block printed gold flowers on navy blue paper, probably from India. Fore-edges are gilt. Publication includes original poems and sonnets with translations of poems by German poet Heinrich Heine. Final poem in the book, Cinq Francs Par An, is in French dated 1903.
Printer’s typos have been corrected by hand in ink. There is some wear to the cover edges and stress on the spine.
The dedication dated April 14th, 1900, is a beautiful but also slightly tongue in cheek salute to the author’s friends who would have received this as a gift.
Dedication is to Alice Greenly, from C. S. G.
Overall a beautifully printed and designed book – a true celebration of friendship.
