Mid-20th Century Red Chinese Skirt

This early to mid 20th century Chinese skirt has been made to look like a more detailed and earlier piece. Black cotton ribbon has been glued and then stitched onto the persimmon coloured silk to give the impression of individual panels. The knot work embroidery is much looser and more open than earlier pieces.

Condition:  There’s one stain on the back of the skirt, and one area of slight wear. There is some staining to the blue cotton lining, and the cotton waist band. Some threads have started to come loose.
