Embroidered Pants Guatemala
These traditional Guatemalan pants were made to be worn with a similarly decorated huipil. The cotton was most likely woven on the back strap loom as the strips are approximately 12 inches wide each. The leg sections have been woven and decorated separately and then added. There is a diamond shaped gusset in the crotch for ease of movement. The waist would’ve been rolled around a belt or sash to told them in place.
Size: Waist is 46 inches, but probably not be worn by a size larger 38.
Condition: There is some minor wear to the embroidery and the cotton itself.
