1950’s Cotton Faille and Raffia Set

The skirt consists of three types of fabric strips sewn together in an alternating pattern. The cream cotton faille layers are hand beaded with tiny pink glass beads. The matte pink raffia strips feature a loose vertical weave, while the middle iridescent pink raffia strips feature a tight horizontal braided weave. The woven raffia layers are semi-transparent (see 2nd to last photo).

The top is well tailored white cotton faille with a pink cotton faille collar/yoke and beaded raffia detail.

Excellent vintage condition. Some beads have been replaced. Minor stain on skirt (see last photo).
