Antique Turn Pin Spectacles
$285.00
1800’s eyeglasses with rivet placed half way on the temple for a more secure fit. The proper position for wearing the turn pin extension was upward at the 1 o’clock position, for a better grasp, rather than straight back or downward.
A great example of the evolution of optometry, as inventors tried to find more comfortable and secure ways to wear glasses with the limited materials available at the time. Unique item for a collector or a steam punk’s wardrobe.
Excellent vintage condition (especially for its age). Chips and scratches on lenses. Nice patina on metal frame.
35mm lens width
20mm bridge width
