Family Letter From 1855

New Year’s Eve 1855. The author of the letter, Aaron Longstreet, is writing to his niece Emily, to fill her in on how his health has been since his last letter. He’s not doing well, and if you look at the image with the ruler, you will see that he agreed to a popular treatment of the time, applying leeches to relieve your pain. It didn’t help.
