Chain Stitch Bed Cover

This bed cover is made up of 30 individual panels that are approximately 16 in.² each. The surface design is chain stitch that has been attached to a cotton backing and then the squares were sewn together. The entire piece is backed in the same colour cotton as the chain stitch has been attached to in the front. There are no duplicate colour patterns. There is some slight colour variation to the thread in the panels, and stitching variations. The backing has been attached with machine sewing. There is some colour variations on the back of the piece. The style of embroidery is common in the Kashmiri area and central Asia. This would make an excellent wall hanging or bed cover.
