19th century Chinese silk skirt. Front and back panels are reverse appliqué and silk embroidery. Balance of skirt is pleated silk brocade. There is a pattern of flowers and butterflies in the silk brocade. Embroidery inside of reverse appliqué black panel is comprised of birds and flowers including peacocks,cranes,kingfishers,butterflies,peonies and blossoms.Embroidery is primarily satin stitch with some other knot-work details. 8 inch wide silk waistband is held together with homemade knots and frogs.
Condition: There is some minimal staining.
