Antique Chinese Embroidered Pouch
This beautifully embroidered bag appears to be made of two cuff panels that have been sewn together and then edged in a dark blue silk. The embroidery is mostly satin stitch, with some fine knot work as well. The inside of the bag was lined in a light weight cotton while the flap of the bag has an additional lining of light weight silk. Beautiful hand stitching on the edges. In excellent shape for a piece dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
Size: 9 1/2 inches wide, pouch is 7 inches deep. There are some very minor day transfers from rubbing on the inside of the pouch. Overall, a beautiful example of hand stitching and embroidery.
