40’s Milgrim Cotton Faille Gown

Panelled and boned strapless gown with hip band backed with horse hair making the full skirt drop from the hip. Designed by Sally Milgrim, a popular New York designer to the stars from the 1920’s-50’s. Although this dress is made for her ready to wear line “Salymil” some serious talent and craftsmanship went into its construction. The dress is made of Faille, a type of fabric which is woven with a faintly ribbed pattern, creating a distinctive textured feel.
Excellent vintage condition. Two pin prick holes on both sides of the bodice band and small spot (I believe it is a mark left behind from two pushpins that stayed in the garment too long)
