Etching From Human Hair


Human Hair etchings

Dating from somewhere between 1780 and 1830, this etching is “drawn” using human hair.  This one uses black and red hair. The inside measurement is 5 3/8 by 37/8 inches of the framing has no information whatsoever as they have been reframed.  The original artist is anonymous at this time.  Wunderkammern, or cabinets of curiosities, arose in mid-sixteenth-century Europe as repositories for all manner of wondrous and exotic objects. This object affords the purchaser the beginnings of an excellent collection.
