Antique Sewing Box
This small antique wooden box that may have once been a jewelry box, has been adapted into a thread and sewing box. The inside cover is a piece of ruched silk attached to a heavy cardboard to create a flap. You could also stick your needles through the silk to keep from losing them. The tray insert has lightweight wood dividers covered in paper. There is some damage to the edges of the box around the lid. The box shows overall signs of use.
Approximate size 9 1/2” long by 6 1/2” deep by 4 3/8” high.
