Purple Chiffon Dress

Purple Chiffon Dress

This dress is a beautiful example of 1930’s bias cutting. The colour of the front of the dress is a true purple. The dress has braided spaghetti straps that then split into three pieces attached separately to the top of the bust line in the front as well as the back. The bust has a fold at the top and pleating at the sides. Just under the bust, there is a dark pink triangular piece of fabric that, if followed, cascades all the way down the back of the dress, outlining the light pink fabric which makes up the whole centre back of the dress. The back of the dress dips lower, both at the upper back and the hem. There are approximately 20 fabric covered buttons at the back of the dress that get you into it. This is truly an elegant dress for any dressy summer occasion. It could be worn with both, a full slip or a half slip. It was shot with a full slip in one picture only to show an example of how it might look.

Besides the tearing, these other marks were only discovered because of careful examination.
