This is a an original 1930’s wedding outfit. It is a separate skirt with jacket. Made in the most incredible red silk with appliques in mostly gold and pink with turquoise and blue and a lining in bright fuchsia. It is truly majestic. The skirt is a wrap skirt that does up using a tie ribbon to wrap around the waist. The jacket is a traditional Chinese jacket with a high Mandarin collar and frog buttons. The buttons are on the right side just under the armpit and 2 more about half way down the jacket. The sleeves of the jacket are elbow length and wide. The embroidery is clearly thematic for a wedding ceremony with a large picture of a bride and groom on the front and back centre of the jacket as well as showcasing large flowers and also Chinese symbols which most definitely communicate some auspicious desire. This is a very special find.
